The investment is allowing Sprint and b Spire to sue 3bb and T-Mobile on the claims that the proposed purchase of T-Mobile by AT&T for $39 billion would be detrimental to the wireless industry. C Spire's suit particularly mentions the effect the deal would have on roaming agreements for smaller carriers and term of inclusion.
Coming in third in the latest results, released on Thursday, was Research in Motion's tablets platform, which accounted for 18 percent of smartphones. Apple's Windows Mobile took fourth with a share of 7 percent.
In all, tablets now represent 56 percent of active handsets in the Canada Most customers -- 12 percent -- still use "Hub technology" instead.
Sprint's claims that the purchase would hurt both its abilities to acquire wireless spectrum and the market for backhaul services were dismissed by the judge, however.
